The Meserani Project
The Meserani Project is an organisation dedicated to improving the education and lives of children in Tanzania and Kenya. Gaining charity status in 2010, they have completed some amazing projects including building school building and providing equipment, sponsoring, fitting water tanks, solar panels and power and more, all of which supports children and students in getting a higher level and quality of education.
We as a team will be taking part in a range of fundraising activities, and all donations of any size would be massively appreciated!

Michael Lucking
Hi! My name is Mike, I'm 31 and a Telecoms Network Engineer for Virgin Media in Lincoln. I've never done anything like this before, and feel I have been so lucky being brought up in the environment I have. I feel it's time to offer something back, and this amazing opportunity to travel to Tanzania and really improve the lives of the people there seemed perfect. I'm hoping to get stuck in and really help make a difference for the people of the Meserani region.
Kevin Sharp
Technical site inspector for VirginMediaO2 (South).
Having had the amazing experience of visiting Tanzania in 2018 to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, I have since had the feeling I would return. The local guides and support team where great fun, although it was evident that the comforts we take for granted in the UK are few and far between for the people of Tanzania. The opportunity to return to this captivating country and support a local project by helping to build a better environment and future for the local community would be a small gesture, but a pleasure.
Nick Myers

Hi I’m Nick Myers Technical Site Engineer – Solent region. I have volunteered to be part of the Meserani project because I have seen the long lasting, life transforming good previous visits over the years have made to the lives of so many children. I want to give some of my time, skillset, (and your money!) to help even more children live and learn for a more hopeful future.

The opportunity to travel to Tanzania and support The Meserani Project, a charity that is positively impacting the trajectory of young people’s lives, will help create a difference to local communities in need of support. As a team of individuals across VMo2 with a variety of backgrounds and skills, collectively with your financial generosity and donations, we can help leave a massive impact, supporting children for years to come.

I’m honoured to be able to spend my spare time supporting charities in Africa and delighted to be joining the team to help with the Meserani Project next year.
Ross Deighton

‘Hi! I’m Ross, I’m 29 and a Regional Designer at Virgin Media O2. I am extremely grateful to be on board for the Meserani Project and to help improve the lives of teachers and students within Tanzania and help benefit the education system for years to come. Providing resources via the Project is crucial for Meserani Snakepark as well as local schools, who have greatly benefitted from the project over the past number of years from laptop lessons, solar installation and the donation of school supplies . As someone who is passionate about travel, exploring new cultures, I want to make a difference in the local community where it is needed most and couldn’t be more thankful for this opportunity.’
Paul Edwards

Hello, my name is Paul Edwards and I’m the Director of Field Engineering & Operations at VirginmediaO2. Since becoming a father, I have seen first-hand the value and opportunities that education brings to young people and it’s so often something that many of us take for granted. The Meserani project focusses on providing education to young people where such opportunities are not accessible due to poverty, provision and family circumstances. I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to support the charity and ultimately be a part of something greater than myself. The Project offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference whether it’s teaching in a classroom, helping to improve local infrastructure, or simply sharing smiles with the children, I am ready and eager to be a part of the change that the Meserani Project continues to create.
