Our son Merrick needs a new pair of AFO (ankle-foot orthotic) braces — essential medical equipment that helps him walk safely and comfortably. He’s had braces before, and they made a huge difference in his mobility and quality of life. Unfortunately, he’s outgrown them and now needs a new custom set. The cost is nearly $5,000, and despite insurance, we’re unable to cover the out-of-pocket expenses. We’re doing everything we can, but right now, we simply can’t afford this.
