On April 29, 2021, a building in Mt. Meron, Israel collapsed on Jews celebrating Lag B'Omer killing at least 45 and injuring hundreds, in what many are calling the worst peacetime tragedy in modern Israeli history. Mt. Meron is the site of the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, and every Lag B'Omer, hundreds of thousands of Jews migrate there in celebration. Tragically, there is mass chaos and heartbreak as tens are dead, hundreds are injured, and tens of thousands left this celebratory holiday in sadness. There are heartwrenching reports of the phones of the deceased still ringing with loved ones not knowing where they are. This devastating event can not go unnoticed at a sacred spot where we have celebrated Jewish pride for thousands of years. Please join together in supporting the victims.
