Merkle Tech Strategy is seeking donations to fund lunch and transportation for an upcoming event that is aimed at supporting career development for low-income students.
The Tech Strategy team will facilitate a full-day experience with the freshman class where Merkle will:
- Present to students about Merkle, the common projects of the Tech Strategy team, and consulting in general
- Provide small group breakouts to discuss preparing for a workplace, career questions, and more
- Run a workshop for real-world experience within the Tech Strategy team
- Lunch & time to connect and network with students who could be the future talent at Merkle
The high school's body is entirely comprised of low-income families. Together with local business partners like Merkle, they provide a college-preparatory education in the classroom as well as place their students in regular corporate work-study programs (CWSP). The CWSP acts similarly to an internship, allowing students to gain familiarity with corporate work environments, find mentors in the business, and also financially support the cost of their private tuition. The incredible success of their program speaks in a few key statistics:
- 96% of students will be the first in their family to get a college degree, and 70% exclusively speak Spanish at home
- 100% of students get accepted to college, and 85% attend four-year institutions
- 50% of job partners hire alumni after graduation
