Meow Wolf Workers Collective Strike & Defense Fund

Since August 2024 workers at the Grapevine Meow Wolf and the Meow Wolf Workers Collective have been in negotiations for a contract with company leadership. We continue to come to the table despite the pattern of bad-faith behavior from the company in these negotiations.
Workers at the Grapevine Meow Wolf – The Real Unreal – keep the doors to the exhibit open. They check tickets, provide security, answer guest questions, clean the exhibit, provide refreshments, and run the store among many other duties seen and unseen by the public.
Currently, the union has conceded some working conditions demands in the hope this would move the company to align with us on improved wages, benefits, and guaranteed hours. Unfortunately, the company refuses to reciprocate:
- The company refuses to match wages for the same work other workers do at other Meow Wolf exhibitions despite Grapevine’s higher cost of living.
- The company has also refused to provide its full healthcare plan to nearly 60% of the Grapevine workforce.
When Meow Wolf announced the Texas locations, there was blowback from employees and fans responding to the regressive legislation and workplace conditions in Texas. The company assured us that Meow Wolf could, in a small way, change the workplace culture in Texas. This has not been the case. Meow Wolf leadership has attempted to justify the inequity of pay to Grapevine workers by citing other exploitative low wages in Texas. Meow Wolf must do better and live up to its stated values . Meow Wolf Grapevine workers need your help!
A strike or walkout are last-resort actions, but they are important tools to help workers gain leverage in negotiations. In the spirit of staying ready so we don’t have to get ready, we ask our community to contribute to a Strike & Defense Fund to help workers cover rent, food, transportation, and potential legal support as they continue to fight for their rights.
This money will be stored in a separate ongoing MWWC Strike & Defense Fund so that it can roll over and aid workers in ALL Meow Wolf locations. Even if Grapevine does not strike, a large, readily-available defense fund demonstrates to the company that we are serious and prepared to go to the mat for our members.
