Mentoring Matters is a global non-profit organisation that aims to redress the balance of equity and opportunity within the creative industries by supporting candidates from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic/Global Majority backgrounds.

As we approach our 5th birthday, we’re not just celebrating how far we’ve come - we’re looking ahead to how much more we can do. That’s why we’re launching this fundraising campaign: to expand our impact by increasing our public participation through free events, reaching more people, and deepening our support for the wider creative community.

For five years, we’ve been more than a mentoring program - we’ve become a family. A vibrant, creative network where emerging talent and underrepresented voices are seen, supported, and empowered. Through hundreds of mentoring relationships, we’ve helped launch careers, build confidence, and open doors in industries that too often shut people out.

Our alumni are shaping culture, telling powerful stories, and transforming the creative industries from the inside out.

And now, this work is more vital than ever.

As efforts toward equity and representation face growing challenges, our mission - to reshape who gets to tell stories and how - is urgent. We believe in a creative industry that reflects everyone, and we work every day to make that future real.

We believe that sharing knowledge, offering access, and showing love are hugely radical acts in a world that too often withholds them. Because we’ve seen that when you open the door for more voices, you get better stories, richer creative environments, and visionary work.
