Running for Mental Health Movement
I’m not a runner.
In fact, until recently, the idea of running a 5K seemed completely out of reach. But this year, I’ve decided to do something that scares me, challenges me, and pushes me far beyond my comfort zone: I’m running the Belfast Half Marathon for The Mental Health Movement Charity.
This cause means more to me than I can put into words.
Last year someone incredibly close to me faced one of the darkest periods of their life. Watching them struggle was heartbreaking, but it also showed me just how important it is to talk about mental health, and to support the people and organisations making a difference.
I’ll never be able to fully repay what that meant but I can run. Even if it’s hard. Even if it hurts. Every mile I run is for them, and for the people still out there struggling in silence.
That’s why I’m running. To raise awareness. To help fight the stigma. And to give something back through a charity that’s changing lives every day.
I might not be a runner but I am determined.
If you can spare anything to support this amazing local service and help them continue the work that changes lives, I’d be unbelievably grateful.
