Our Beloved community member lost his home and sanctuary; and his livelyhood was deeply affected by the devasating Thomas fire in the loss of thousands of dollars in tree care equipment; tools, chainsaws, and climbing gear. For the last 4 years TreeBear has lived in a 18ft canvas teepee apon a dear friend's land on top of Sulpher Mountain.
We have been speaking a great deal about what truly matters in this precious life, and as he says "the re~awakening of our community tribal values is the true treaure that has come from all of this". I couldn't agree more. Our care for each other in the face of tragedy, the difference between a house, and a home, defines us as a community. JerrBear is home here in Ojai, and he is truly the very best of us. If you see his shining light like I do, if you have shared a sweet moment over a mug of coffee, or caught the twinkle in his eye... Please donate to TreeBear's fund to help him set down new domestic roots, and get back to work healing the valley's trees.
