Menard Youth Initiative is collecting funds to directly benefit victims of the Menard County Texas July 4 flood.

Our area was extremely blessed to have no human fatalities or major injuries, and we all consider ourselves very blessed. There were many a swift water rescue and escapes that were gratefully successful.

Since this fund started, we have helped a lot of local folks, and we plan on that support lasting until after the initial hubbub and shock fades.

Long term motel rooms, pet food, brand new clothing, store gift cards, full grocery loads, bedding, tennis shoes and socks... the list goes on.

I feel like most people know about this fund now, but if you're in Menard or know someone here who we can help, please have them contact Paige at the news office or via the contact option on this site. They don't like me listing my number and email here. If we cannot help you, we will find someone who can!

I will update this posting locally for flood victims who seek relief. The faster we can get donations collected the faster we can help those who lost so much.
