On Thursday May 27, 2021 my family was hit with the hardest thing any family will ever have to deal with.
My husband and the father of our 3 children was tragically killed in a head on collision on his way to work.
It is one thing as a adult to be dealt a card like this but for our children it is beyond heart breaking. Our youngest is 4 and does not yet understand what has happened but our 7 and 11 year old's both do. They both understand and know that they will never see their Daddy again.
Seeing your children in that state and not be able to do anything to take that pain away is another hurt that cuts deep in this already broke heart of mine.
Anyone who knew Donavan knows how much he loves, cares, fights for the ones he loved. I had seen him go above and beyond for his brothers in arms. He was always looking out for them and wanted them to know that even when times got hard he was there or would help them get in contact with someone who could help them if he could not. He never wanted anyone to fall through the crack or to lose any more brothers then he already had.
He was the same way with our family. He did anything in his power for his children. He wanted them to grow up good, to know he loved them, and that he wanted the best for them.
With all that he did, he did it with a smile, or cracking jokes.
He knew how to make you laugh & could always bring me out of my moments when I needed it. I already miss that dearly.
The lose of him to our family has taken us to our lowest.
It has fallen onto me to take care of our children alone and without warning. Donavan was the sole support for our family so during this already trying time I am having to find ways to take care of our family, mentality, physically, and financially.

I am not to worried about myself but our kids is my main concern.
After the lose of my younger sister and now my husband I can not stress this enough tell the people you care about how much you love them and what they mean to you. You never know when it can be taken away from you. Sometimes you see it coming, other times they are gone before you know it.
