Update: Julia Comer said, “Marty and I had talked many times of our desire to be buried in Liberia if that was where we were when the Lord took us Home. I am so very grateful to all those who helped make this happen for him. On Dec 1, my sister, Shelly, and I will fly to Liberia, and on Dec 6, we will lay his body to rest on the property of the training center, a place that was very dear to his heart. My prayer is that the burying of his body will be like the planting of a seed that will grow and produce much fruit for the kingdom. He taught and lived the gospel in life, and now may the gospel continue to go forth in and through his death. ****PLEASE PRAY that Shelly's visa will come in time for her to go with me as planned. It is currently in North Carolina with USPS.”

Marty Comer went to be with the Lord on Sunday at 62 years old. He was in Liberia finishing up a 4-week mission trip when he suffered a heart attack. One moment he was here — the next, he was with the Lord.

Marty was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and missionary. As one of the directors of Equip2Serve, he spent the last 12 years investing in and training church leader in West Africa. He helped build the ministry from the ground up and dedicated his life to equipping others to serve Christ.

We are now asking for your support to rally around his wife, Julia.

We are raising funds to cover Marty’s memorial expenses. Due to the international process, travel, and associated red tape, costs are expected to be substantial to cover the arrangements. We have decided not to name a specific amount because at this point we are uncertain what the total will be. This is why the goal is set at $10. We are trusting the Lord for His provision.
