UPDATE (MAR 2025)
Once again, Israel has shattered the ceasefire agreement, resuming airstrikes on Gaza. As if cutting off humanitarian aid, water, and electricity to an entire population wasn’t enough, the attacks continued, deepening the suffering of innocent families.
Evacuation was the priority, but now it is survival.
I am pleading with you - please give what you can and share this as widely as possible. Families like my cousin Essam’s are desperate. I wish they had more to rely on, but in a world of feckless politicians and unchecked power, all we have is each other.
UPDATE (JAN 2025)
The news of the ceasefire brings a glimmer of hope, but for families like Essam’s, the pain, uncertainty, and daily struggles are far from over. It’s been some time since my last update, and so much has happened.
Despite being displaced, Essam and his family hold on to the dream of rebuilding their lives. Even in the face of unimaginable hardship, they remain resilient and hopeful for a chance to start over in safety.
Your generosity has already made a difference, and once again, I am reaching out to ask for your kindness and support. Every contribution you make brings them closer to the possibility of evacuating to safety and starting a new chapter. Until that day comes, your help is a lifeline for them and their future.
Thank you for your continued grace and generosity. It means more than words can express.

Update: The occupying army has started incursions into Rafah.
I'm Rania, a Palestinian American devastated and heartbroken by the war raging in the Middle East.
I have family trapped in Gaza, as many others do. This war has been punishing - as we watch the annihilation of our people, friends, and loved ones from afar.
None of this is easy, most of it unbearable! And I could use your help.
I'm raising money to help my cousin Essam Adwan and his family leave Gaza for safety in Egypt. The cost is about $5k per person. Essam and his wife have four children: Lama is 13 years old, Mohammed is 12, Alyia is 10, and baby Zain is only 5 years old. All of them are struggling and desperately need to leave.
People in the Gaza Strip have continued to suffer under American-taxpayer-funded bombs and weaponry, as well as now dealing with the harshest of conditions - for weeks if not months, they've been starving, cold, and scared.
Leaving is not an easy decision to make for any Palestinian, nor will this be easy for the family to do.
I hope you'll help me so that money isn't an obstacle to safety.
With love and gratitude.
