Hello friends and family!

On August 20th sweet baby Melody Grace was born to Mark and Meagan Berlin. She was born with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) and has several heart anomalies that will require open heart surgery in the coming months.Currently Melody’s heart is weak and over time it will get weaker and fail without surgical intervention. She was recently discharged from the NICU after a 3 week stay. She has also already had surgery to place a tube in her stomach that will allow her to get the nutrients her body needs to heal and thrive via a feeding pump.

Meagan is currently a stay at home mom raising their other two daughters, Madelyn and Makenna, with Mark being the sole provider for the family. 

Melody will require not only surgical intervention to correct her heart defects and frequent medical care; but will also need physical, occupational and speech therapy as she grows. The donations from this fundraiser will go towards Melody’s out of pocket costs for the open-heart surgery, any additional surgeries, follow up visits, medications, including time off that dad may need to take to be with the family that won’t be covered.

We all know it takes a village and we are lucky enough to have Mark and Meagan in ours. Anyone who knows the Berlin family knows that they are some of the best people around and would do anything they could to help anyone else.
