Mellon Educate School Building Blitz, 2022

Hello, my name is Sean and I have been in the building trades my entire life. I have done every aspect of the hands on work for close to 35 years and now it will be an honor for me to be a part of the Mellon Educate team and help build a school over an intense one week this coming November, 2022 in the Khyaelitsha township in Cape Town, South Africa.

I first learned about Niall Mellon and his Irish organization, Mellon Educate on a recent trip with my wife to Cape Town, where more than one person mentioned their group of volunteers glowingly!

On a visit we took to the Langa township, we stopped at a kindergarten and brought school supplies and had a great visit with the kids. There we learned about the issues that people and children face daily in the townships, and after that it was a pretty quick decision to check out Mellon Educate and to get involved.

We are so fortunate and so humbled to be able to travel and to be able to meet people from all over the world is really such a gift.

The people of South Africa are some of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met and I can’t wait to get back there in November as a part of the Mellon crew to help build a school there with all of your help.
