This November, I’ll be traveling to a Township in Cape Town, South Africa, alongside Barry Curran and Mark O’Sullivan, to take part in Mellon Educate’s 2025 Building Blitz. A week-long volunteer project running from the 16th to the 23rd of November. Together with volunteers from around the world.

Mellon Educate hosts this annual initiative in partnership with the South African government, combining efforts to improve housing and education. Over the years, the charity has built over 32 schools and renovated many more, giving more than 50,000 children access to safe classrooms and brighter futures. Beyond schools, Mellon has also provided permanent housing for 175,000 people, replacing unsafe shack conditions with proper homes.

Any donation, no matter the size, is hugely appreciated and will go directly towards this impactful work. Contributions will support the creation of lasting, high-quality learning environments that transform lives for generations to come.
