My Name is Janet Legere and I am a close friend of the Foster family and am honoured to create this fundraiser for Melissa's family.

Melissa was a wonderful young mother of three and a loving partner to Lawrence. She was the kind of person who led with love—gentle, kind, and always thinking of others. Her sudden passing on Monday has left our family heartbroken and navigating a world that changed far too soon.

Melissa’s greatest joy was being “Mom.” She leaves behind three beautiful children—Kaleb, Kaysia, and Lawrissa—who were the light of her life. She also leaves her partner Lawrence, her mom, two sisters, a brother, and a circle of nieces and nephews who adored her. We will remember her for her soft spirit, her warm smile, and the way she made everyone feel cared for.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help Lawrence keep the family together and provide stability for the children during the next few months as they adjust. The funds will go toward immediate needs, including:

Rent and household expenses to keep the kids in their home

Groceries, school supplies, and daily essentials for the children

Childcare and transportation support as the family regains footing

Memorial and related expenses not otherwise covered

Our goal is to lift some of the financial weight so Lawrence and the kids can focus on grieving, healing, and honoring Melissa’s memory. Any amount helps, and if you are not able to give, sharing this page means so much.
