Hi, My name is Andie and I am fundraising for Melissa Garcia. Melissa Garcia is a single mother living in Houston, TX with her 13-year-old son, mother, brother, and two nephews. Melissa is putting herself through college by working at a daycare, as a nanny, as a school bus driver, and now is substitute teaching. She will finish her degree at the University of Houston in the spring of 2024. She hopes to teach for a few years before she can pursue a Masters in counseling so she can help as many students as possible.

Melissa owns a trailer in North Houston. This morning, her neighbor, on the brink of eviction, committed arson and burned down the trailer he was renting. The fire spread to Melissa’s trailer and now her family has lost everything. I’ve known Melissa for 6 years and she is truly one of the most amazing, strongest humans I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Please help support her and her family rebuild the life that they have lost. She needs a new place to live and needs to replace clothes, furniture, kitchen utensils, etc. Most of the funds raised will go towards a new rent payment.
