City of Aberdeen - Skate Park Renovation Project
Donation protected
The Melgaard Park skate park is in the process of being renovated. In the photo, you'll see our plan for revitalizing the skate park. The new features will improve the parks overall “skateability,” giving novice, intermediate and advanced users new riding surfaces that suit their specific skillsets, as well as improving the “flow” or connectivity between features, which will help maximize the use of space.
The American Ramp Company of Joplin, Missouri assisted us in updating the skate park master plan. The new ramps will be from their pro-series, which feature a 20-year warranty, galvanized steel framework, MaxGrip Steel surfaces, and fastener free riding surfaces. This means that not only will these ramps be longer lasting and virtually maintenance free, but they will be safer for skaters as well.
Donors will be acknowledged under one of five levels on a sponsorship sign that will be placed at the entrance of the skate park. Level five sponsors will also be recognized with a sign on one of the new ramps.
Please consider a donation to the skate park. A donation will not only help diversify the programming and services available to all Aberdonians, but more specifically, it is an investment in the youth of our community. With your help, we can keep our community healthy, active, and happy!
