Hi my name is Tricia and I'm fundraising for my best friend and her family.

Last Tuesday evening around 8:00 pm, their apartment in Steveston village caught on fire. Meghan, Matt, their 3 year old daughter and their 2 rescue cats we're evacuated from their home that they have lived in for 10 years. They are displaced and currently homeless.

Meghan is a part time veterinary assistant who is incredibly compassionate to animals and Matthew works in the food and beverage industry. They are both loving parents who work extremely hard to provide a good life for their daughter.

I know we all have our own financial struggles going on but I hope you can find it in your heart to donate whatever you can afford. If you can't donate, even sharing the link and spreading the word has a huge impact and can help more donations come in.

Donations and funds will go towards helping them find a new place to live and start rebuilding their lives from the ground up. They are devastated and are left with nothing to salvage from this very unfortunate situation.

Update:

Meghan and Matt have still not been allowed into their apartment building. The fire was caused by a meth lab explosion above their unit so it's assumed everything is ruined from either smoke and water damage or contamination.

Please consider donating cash, gift cards, new or gently used clothing, toys, furniture, kitchen items and toiletries. Items can be dropped off at my house or arrangements can be made for pick up. The Hub in Steveston Village is also accepting donations to give to the families affected by the apartment fire.
