Megan's Move Fund: Assist Relocating to Chicago for Family

I’m moving! Back to my hometown of Chicago, I am so excited to be closer to my family and the city I love! Two (or so) years ago, I moved out to Baltimore on the promise of adventure and after pandemic isolation, I wanted something new.

Unfortunately, my current housemate has become quite toxic and for my own well-being I need to move out and outside Maryland limits. With the end of my lease came the opportunity to head back to the place I’ve become quite homesick for: Chicago. My grandparents are closer there, as well as my siblings, parents, and cousins. After traveling back for holidays, for Cubs games, for any excuse to see my one-year-old niece- it was time.

I have some (small) savings and the move itself is in motion- but I could do with some help. The current goal is $5,000. As a hyper-independent oldest daughter, I’m still learning to ask for help.

I have also cleaned up, downsized, and decisively consolidated the belongings I’ll take with me. I donated art supplies, books, and clothes to Scrap B-more, Little Free Libraries around my neighborhood, and Retold Recycling (respectively).
