Hi, I’m Ciara, and I’m hosting this event to raise funds for ALONE, a charity that holds a very special place in my heart. ALONE supported my grandad in ways my family and I will never forget. Their kindness, compassion, and consistent presence made such a difference to him — and to us — during a time when he truly needed support, connection, and dignity.

Why ALONE Matters

ALONE is a national organisation dedicated to enabling older people to age safely and comfortably at home. They offer vital services such as befriending, practical support, advocacy, and community engagement, ensuring that no older person feels isolated or unsupported. Their work gives older people not just the help they need, but the companionship and respect they deserve.

I saw firsthand the impact ALONE can have. They brought comfort, reassurance, and a sense of connection to my grandad, and for that I’ll always be grateful. Supporting them now is my way of honouring him and giving back to an organisation that gave so much to our family.
