Sri Lanka is facing a severe shortage of many life saving medications and essential surgical

consumables due to the economical crisis that is currently devastating the country.

One of the specific items that this fundraiser is helping with is outlined below. There are other medical needs emerging from Sri Lankan hospitals that we could fund if we reach the right level of funding. The details of these and evidence of authenticity will be posted as updates when the needs arises.

At the moment, the main medication we are focusing on is Midazolam. The College of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka (COAISL), as a professional organization, have come forward with this need in the hope of saving lives. The following link is for a letter of request for aid to purchase Midazolam. Midazolam is used for sedation of sick patients in wards, intensive care units and in operating theatres, it is a crucial part of these medical procedures.

The funds raised will be used to directly pay the suppliers in order to purchase the medication. This will ensure the funds are used, without corruption, for the purposes described. These will then be distributed through COAISL to the hospitals in need. The suppliers nominated are Sri Lankan based companies. This will help support the economic crisis and encourage a supply chain within the country itself.
