Hi my name is Lois, I'm trying to raise money to help my daughter Christina pay for medical equipment needed for when she gets out of the hospital. My daughter went into the hospital in January 16th with a lung infection within 10 minutes of being in the hospital she was put into a medical induce coma which lasted about 3 months. After about a month in the St. Catherines hospital in the ICU she was transported to the Hamilton hospital. While in a coma her kidneys failed she was put on dialysis, her lungs collapsed numerous times, she had a constant fever that would sometimes reach 104, she had a seizure and also a few strokes all while in a coma. The doctors told us they did not believe she was going to live and if she did she would wake up the severe brain damage. We are so happy that when she woke up she was fully aware of everything, she could talk, she knew who we were. After she woke up from her coma she was moved to the ICU in Welland. More recently she has been moved to Shaver hospital where they're working with her in hopes to be able to get her walking again. As of right now she is in a wheelchair and has the use of her left side only. When she gets out of the hospital she will need a piece of equipment called Sara Stedy which is not covered. This device holda her up and helps her stand. This will help with her mobility and also transfering her from the bed to her wheelchair. Tina has been through a lot over these past 6 months and we can't wait to get her home. Raising this money will help with the necessary medical equipment to be able to get her back in her own house.
