Hello everyone,
I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, who is almost six months pregnant and was recently involved in an accident caused by severe road buckling on the College Avenue exit.
She was on her way home from nursing school when she began to exit onto College Avenue and unexpectedly hit an unmarked section of buckled roadway while traveling around 50-55 mph. The impact was so severe that her vehicle briefly lifted off the ground before crashing back down with tremendous force.
Despite the shock and pain, she immediately drove herself to the nearest emergency room, which happened to be a private hospital. While there, she began experiencing severe cramping and frequent contractions, raising immediate concerns for her unborn baby. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she was transferred by ambulance to her OB team in Racine for further evaluation and care.
The following hours were filled with fear, uncertainty, and anxiety. Doctors were concerned about the possibility of preterm labor because of how close together the contractions were occurring. Thankfully, they were eventually able to get the contractions under control, and she was discharged home to rest and recover.
As she focuses on healing and protecting her pregnancy, she now faces the added burden of taking time away from work, along with the significant medical expenses resulting from emergency treatment, ambulance transport, and ongoing care.
Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser, would mean the world to our family. This should be a time when she is preparing to welcome her first child, not worrying about overwhelming medical bills and financial stress.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
