Medical Assistance for Cartagena

My name is Dr. Gina Cespedes, I am a podiatrist who currently works in NYC. Since 2007, as a medical student, I have been involved in Medical Mission trips with various groups. I, with a team of wonderful volunteers currently run the Community Service Department at our local church continuously working with the homeless, food pantries, soup kitchens and nursing homes.

Our goal in this medical outreach will provide for the spiritual, medical and physical therapy needs of its clinics' patients. We will focus heavily on patient education to empower individuals to better care for themselves and their families, then follow up with local healthcare providers for continuing treatment as needed.

People living in impoverished communities in these countries often find that healthcare is not accessible to them. Without checkups, vaccinations, or treatment for illnesses, locals are vulnerable to the spread of disease and susceptible to infection. Offering checkups, tending to injuries, and providing health education are just some of the ways your team will serve.Please help make a difference by contributing to the success of this superb mission.
