Help Keep Families Together
Thanks to all of you, we are excited to announce the completion of “LUCHA & the EKEKO”—our short, inspirational, animated film that helps support immigration advocacy initiatives while strengthening positive narratives around fostering and adoption.
By interweaving themes of immigration, motherhood and redemption, this award-winning film tells the heartwarming story of a woman who risks everything to reunite an undocumented migrant girl with her mother and, in the process, finds space in her own heart … to become one.

OUR MISSION:
In solidarity with advocates for immigrant justice (such as Families Belong Together and Kids in Need of Defense), we hope our short video can serve as a tool—supporting legal professionals, educators, and social workers in their work to raise awareness and fight against the lingering and devastating consequences that the Zero-Tolerance “family separation” policy has caused mothers, children and families.
In addition, we hope to highlight the importance of foster care and adoption as ways to provide loving, permanent homes for some of the most vulnerable children.
PROJECT STATUS:
“LUCHA & the EKEKO” is currently screening at festivals where it has so far won ten awards! Stay tuned for the official release announcement.
As it continues to receive favorable reviews and audience response, we're quickly preparing for the next step… bringing it to a wider audience via broadcast or streaming services.
FUNDING NEED:
Now that “LUCHA & the EKEKO” is doing well, we can’t wait to share it.
However, before submitting to TV/cable broadcasters and streaming platforms, we have to prepare several deliverables that all the major platforms will require. The deliverables we must provide include the following items:
• Update/polish film poster & key art
• Create new trailer
• Promotional collateral
• Closed captioning / subtitling
• Legal fees
• Errors & Omission insurance
• Digital video masters/format conversions
• Music & Effects masters
We estimate that it could take $14,385.00 to cover these upcoming expenses
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support!
