We are 23 Physician Assistant Students from the University of Washington - MEDEX Anchorage class 8. We want to set up a booth for the homeless at the Health Fair (Feb 21, 2017), and to do this we are looking to raise $5,000. As future healthcare providers our aim is to understand the needs of our community, especially during the winter months when our homeless residents don't have access to many resources. This is a tradtion in our program. We hold this event every year by the didactic students. Our class will partner with Brother Francis Homeless Shelter and Alaska Health Fair Inc. to shelter the homeless from the cold. Our goal is to provide basic medical care, health education, and warm conversation.
What the money will go towards:
- Basic supplies for the Health Fair
- Space/Booth at the Health Fair
- Blood work and/or labs for each participant
With the funding, we want to cover the program fees and important screening blood work to 100 people. The $5,000 will help us accomplish this!
Our goal is to pay the program fees and provide important screening blood work to 100 people. We need $5,000 to accomplish this!
Please help us provide care to the homeless residents of Anchorage, AK. Consider donating to this important cause, as it would mean so much to us and the future participants of the Health Fair. Thank you!!
*Any donations up to $5,000 wil strictly go to the Health Fair and will not be used for anything else. If we do not use all of the $5,000, it will be passed on to the next class for their Health Fair! Any dontation that passes $5,000 will go towards our general class fund.
