On May 19, 2020, E’van LaMar Dill-Smith, better known as “Mooks” to all who knew and loved him,  became the 19th murder victim in Chester, PA, as a result of senseless gun violence.  Mooks was a loving, caring, respectful young man  who was very family-oriented. Losing him to this senseless violence has been heartbreaking to Mooks’ family because he didn’t deserve it. Along with a host of relatives and friends, Mooks leaves behind his parents, brothers, sisters, and one daughter, Layla, to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy. In lieu of flowers for his funeral service, the family is requesting monetary donations to help fund Layla’s education. Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated.

The number 19 will forever be associated with our baby boy, Mooks: the 19th homicide victim in Chester, on the 19th day of May, during Covid-19. A loving father, son, brother, cousin, friend, and favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews, the life of E’van Dill-Smith will be remembered and cherished by his loved ones forever.
