Meals on Lesser Wheels - John

Donation protected
Hi There! My name is Ashley and this is my brother, John (or you may know him as Jesse).

In Sept of last year John set out to follow the prompting of Jesus to go and love people. He walked from our home in Chipley, Florida to Corpus Christi, Texas with nothing but a backpack. He ultimately has been planted for the last several months in Corpus Christi working with the homeless community.

The stories he has to share are unbelievable as he has simply made himself available to be used by God.

In December of last year God provide a way for him to have a bike and a trailer. This enabled him to better serve the homeless community; using the trailer to distribute sleeping bags, sleeping pads, warm clothes and meals among many other things.

He has worked diligently to earn the trust of the homeless community there, so that he can ultimately continue to Share the truth of Christ with them.

This past week his bike got stolen. When he called to share the news he said that while he was bummed, he forgave the man who stole it and hoped he be able to find a way to talk to the man who had taken it…

Two nights ago he sent me this photo and a message that said “Meals on Wheels…Definitely not as efficient as the bike”

You see there is a community of homeless people that have come to enjoy his cooking when he shows up with his makeshift kitchen off of his bike. While is cooking is fantasticly tasty…I am certain those individuals aren’t there just for the food. They are there for the conversations and the truth of Gods words as he shares, they are there to feel as if they belong and are accepted and loved…

Because there is no bike now that it’s been stollen, that didn’t stop him! He has been making trips by walking and now toting this little suitcase with him.

Would you help us buy John (Jesse) a bike? He is not one to ask for anything. He just goes about his days trusting that God will meet all of his needs.

He’d probably roll his eyes and tell me “no,no,no the God will provide” if he knew I was making a post and asking for money. Im hoping to raise enough to get him a new bike (he’s can’t just use a bike from Walmart, there are some specifics he needs as he has a trailer to hall, lots of miles daily he rides checking on people, etc). I’m also hoping to be able to help buy him some saddle bags for his bike and a poncho to cover him and his backpack. If we raise anything extra I can assure you it will go to good use as he uses everything he has to love others well, help meet their physical needs and share Jesus with them:
