COVID-19 EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR THE COMMUNITY
Since the beginning of the pandemic in March, we have been providing essential services, resources and programs to low income and homeless members of our community in temporary housing.
We served thousands of meals to families and individuals in need thanks to a community of giving people. We continue to serve meals weekly to Elders, families, children and individuals who need it most.
Furthermore, we offer free mental health Specialists and sessions with Employment Specialists to those who need it most in the community.
Our team is hoping to continue these important programs. Additionally, we started collecting home items for families in need. Over the past months, we came across many families who need meals, food boxes and home items. We launched "Project SK" which supports families with home items. If you have any gently used home or brand new items that you would like to donate, please contact our team.
Our team also launched our "It takes a village" program to support single mothers and pregnant women. If you would like to donate items such as diapers, baby food/products, please contact our team and we will be happy to collect these items.
In March 2021, we made a call for Headphones to help homeless black children in temporary housing who are struggling to stay focused at school because of the echo of their siblings' devices when they have to study at home because of a COVID outbreak in their school. Unfortunately, a lot of homeless children and youth share a one bedroom apartment with 6, 7 and sometimes 8 members of their family; making it almost impossible for them to focus without disturbing each other. A gift of a pair of headphones can make such a big difference in their lives.
We need your ongoing support. We ask you to please continue to donate what you can and to share this campaign with your networks.
We are grateful for your contributions as they help us help others.
It truly takes a village! It is thanks to your donations that our programs have been thriving during this pandemic. Thank you!
