About this Fundraiser:
I am setting up this fundraiser to purchase and deliver meals for the Healthcare Workers at Flushing Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) in Flushing, NY.
Currently, there are over 36,000 cases of COVID-19 in the NYC area. FHMC is one of many hospitals in Queens that is battling against this pandemic. They are a community hospital and predominantly serve a low-income and immigrant population. The healthcare workers are away from their families and risking their lives each day to deliver care to those that need it most.
With your support, I hope to provide them a few meals over the next coming weeks as they work 24/7 on the frontline of this pandemic. No amount is too small, everything helps to give these brave individuals the energy to continue doing their jobs.
About Me:
My name is Frances Ross and I am a 4th year medical student. I completed many of my core rotations at Flushing Hospital, including Internal Medicine. The team there works tirelessly to care for their patients. After speaking with some, it is clear that they are busy, overwhelmed and scared. Their colleagues are getting sick, and more patients are coming in each day at a terrifying speed. I can't be there in a medical capacity, but I hope to get this fundraiser off the ground and show them their community cares.
