Meal Donations - Buy 1, We Match 1

The historic Virginia Diner (Wakefield, VA) is asking you to partner with us in donating meals to front line workers, elderly shut-ins and those in need from our region at this time due to the Covid pandemic.  To get these meals out, we have teamed up with great organizations like Surry Social Services, Sussex Social Services and others,  and have seen business partners like S Power come on board, who has made a significant meal donation from their company alone.

While we regularly average over 200,000 guests per year, we are in a small town of 850 residents and the majority of our traffic comes from tourism and out-of-towners.  Most of our customer base cannot make it here for a curbside meal at this time given the location, so we are asking fans of the Diner to purchase a meal for someone in need, and we will in turn match that meal from our end as well --- 2 people fed with every donation.   We want to treat these people who need some extra love to a very special meal, not just a small box lunch or lunch meat sandwich.  These will be hearty, homemade southern cooking specialties like fried chicken, two sides, dessert and a drink (each $16-18 meals menu priced).

We are committed to our restaurant staff to keep them employed at their regular hours of work in spite of the shift to "carry-out only" and the much slower sales that come with it.  This outreach is not to benefit the Diner, but rather a chance to utilize our staffed manpower to serve the surrounding communities on top of our portion of the donation.
