Me vs billion$ company in admitted installation failure

At the suggestion of several neighbors in my Nextdoor community, I've decided to bare my soul, tell my story, and let the chips fall where they may.

To say I'm socially awkward would be a gross understatement. I embarrass easily and I'm always apologizing. It's very hard for me to admit I need help. To ask for and then accept help is something foreign and just feels... strange.
Doing so on a huge platform like this is something that took a lot of encouragement and a real level of need.

Thank you for supporting me this far.

A billion-dollar company is responsible for causing damages in my home that rendered it uninhabitable.
This company has all the materials within its orange walls to restore my home to the condition in which they found it.

Instead of doing just that, their claims administrator placed my family in a hotel from April to New Year's Eve 2025.
They made accommodations at a Hilton brand hotel for 8 months. The money spent on hotel accommodations exceeds the value of my home, possibly two times over.

Back story:

I'm a 48 y/o single mom. I have 2 sons, 14 and 10. My youngest has autism and ADHD.
Please understand my intention is not to ridicule or embarrass my son. Nor am I looking for a pity party. My children and their needs are at the forefront of everything I do, including this post.

Routine and structure are imperative to my son's well-being.
His whole world has been interrupted and disrupted by something designed to simplify life.

In Dec 2024, my case manager (momma's got issues too) assisted me in finding a program that assisted low-income/disabled mobile home owners with repairs.
Not too many programs exist for manufactured homes.
The program repaired a few windows, an exterior door, smoke detectors, and some electrical work.
Once the grant work was completed, an inspection was conducted. My house passed inspection with no issues.
My lovely and supportive newly retired mother offered to purchase a dryer and dishwasher for us so my house could be fully safe and functioning. We bought both items and paid for delivery and installation.

LIFE WAS GOOD. We fell into a routine. Dishes that would sit ignored in the sink while I battled a bout of depression were now popped into the dishwasher nightly right after dinner.
No more daunting heaps of laundry side-eyeing me as I scrolled in bed for hours. Life was easier to manage and the kids seemed happy.

End of April, things took a turn. There was a musty smell in the house that I couldn't locate or get rid of.
Thinking one of the kids may have spilled something, I moved the living room table, then couch, and rug.
I discovered I had a huge problem on my hands.
My floor was completely saturated with water.
I called the store where we purchased the items. They dispatched a plumber. After a visual inspection, he said, "We dropped the ball. You'll want to make a Sedgwick claim." I did precisely that.
A dishwasher installation failure caused catastrophic water damage and rendered my family homeless.
During all these months of displacement, I have continued to shoulder my financial obligations, including mortgage and lot rent.

Since then, it's been a rollercoaster ride of disappointments, lowball offers, mice, mold, mushrooms, repair clocks started and expired despite no funds agreed upon or paid.
A law clinic is representing me. The AG was contacted, responded to, and a rebuttal submitted.
The Dept of Commerce and Corporate were contacted. All the way up the ladder I traveled. To the very top of the ladder directly to the leads in both respective departments.

The offer being presented at this point is nowhere near adequate to make us whole.
The discrepancy between the offer and cost of repairs is about $20,000.

Foolishly, I have hope this billion-dollar company will ultimately do what's right.

Until they do, it's my hope I can count on the community to assist my family in any way you can.
Sharing my post, praying, or sending positive vibes my way or in the way of those that wear orange aprons—help in any form will be greatly appreciated.

Due to the life-threatening weather conditions, shelters are full in our area.
We have been offered the services of a warming room at Central Presbyterian Church. It's not meant for comfort but it keeps my children warm.
To be declared homeless while paying a mortgage is a difficult position to be in.
Please help us until we're able to get back home.
