Hi! My name is Amy, and I'm a second-year Geography student at the University of Chester. This May, I will be volunteering in South Africa with the Edge of Africa, a volunteer programme known for its remarkable work since it was founded in 2006.

I am, and always have been, incredibly passionate about tackling climate change and finding solutions to help the affected communities. Climate change, particularly in rural areas, often leads to issues such as poverty, unemployment, disease and a deteriorating education system. Having the chance to make practical differences to communities and environments that need it means a lot to me, personally and academically.

To volunteer with Edge of Africa, I need to raise £2,500 which will contribute to:

Edge of Africa is an incredible programme that I'm truly excited to work with. They offer various types of volunteer programmes, work with local schools and youth groups, partner with up-and-coming charities that they believe in and most importantly, are working towards sustainable solutions to climate change and its impacts.
