Hi, I'm Beth and I'm running the Tromso half marathon in January to raise some funds to help me travel to Rwanda in order to be a volunteer teaching assistant at SOLA school: https://www.sola-afghanistan.org.

SOLA is a boarding school for Afghan girls, the only one in the world that enables these girls to receive an education. In Afghanistan it is currently illegal for girls to receive a secondary education.

From 2016 through 2021, SOLA operated in Kabul; since the return of the Taliban in 2021, the school relocated and is now located in Kigali, Rwanda. Sola seeks to create a generation of Afghan women with the leadership skills to rebuild Afghanistan and guide their homeland into a better future when opportunity permits.

While at SOLA, I will help the girls with mathematics, sciences and English in school, and with extracurricular activities such as music and sport.

I am raising funds to cover travel to Rwanda and accommodation there, as the school is in a temporary facility and cannot provide lodging for me.

Any donations will be very much appreciated!
