Help me go to Africa (Ghana)

Hi, my name is Elle-Mae, and I am in my final year of my 'Adult Nursing' degree.

I have been given the opportunity to fly to Ghana (Takoradi) in Africa for my final placement.

This is an amazing opportunity in where I will be getting an eye-opening experience in hospitals in the developing world. I will have the opportunity to learn local culture, customs and resource shortages and its effect on nurses caring for their patients. The experience will enable me to discover new skills and knowledge which are luxury we in the UK often take for granted.

Of course, this is a self-funded experience and is something I have dreamed of achieving before starting my nursing degree. This experience is something I feel passionate about and I really want to make a difference to the patients and the local communities.

I will be travelling to Africa for 5 weeks which will be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I have to self-fund my flights, visas, vaccinations, two types of insurances, and the course.

I am asking if anyone wishes too and can afford to donate anything they can. Every penny I can raise will enable myself to contribute further, by donating to this amazing place with our 'everyday necessities' such as toothbrushes and toothpaste.

However big or small anyone's donation is, I will be sincerely grateful...
