Support our Next Hong Kong Campaign

Hi, we are seeking for your support to continue our future campaigns.

Asian Commons alongside with The 29 Principles are campaigning for a project which tells the truth about the decline of rule of law in Hong Kong.

The first documentary of the series is currently screening worldwide. This documentary is about a barrister and women human rights defender in Hong Kong Chow Hang Tung. Chow has emerged as a leading advocate for human rights in Hong Kong and mainland China. Being a barrister-at-law, Chow leveraged her legal acumen to challenge unjust laws and defend human rights defenders. Chow has been committed to adopt non-violent means to push for change, even amid severe repression.

Chow is now facing prolonged pre-trial detention and has been charged with various offenses including Inciting Subversion of State Power under the National Security Law. Despite the imprisonment, Chow’s human rights work has been recgonised by three international human rights awards, including 2023 Gwangju Prize for Human Rights (South Korea), 2023 CCBE Human Rights Award, and 2023 Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law.

We thereby would like to call for your action to support our next campaign, as well as your solidarity in ensuring that the voices of others like Chow continue to be heard.
