McNelis' Mission Trip to Puerto Rico

Summer 2024 will be our second time partnering with Send Relief, the mission arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. In August of 2017 send relief were the second group to arrive in Puerto Rico after the hurricanes that hit the Caribbean and have been helping with disaster relief as well as relationship building with local churches on the island since. Our team will be able to help on different parts of the island for the week, helping rebuild homes, clean up areas, and be of help wherever is needed. About 2 weeks prior to learning about the need for filling this slot, Mika told me she just knew the Lord was going to call us to do something like this. Then we discovered a family that had initially signed up to go had an emergency that took them out of the running. This affects everyone else going by proxy, so we prayed about getting involved in this endeavor and have been answered with an astounding "Yes, Go"! Where there is God, there is a way, and He is so good! The proceeds go merely towards our airfare, lodging, and materials needed. We won't know what the assignment will be until we get there, but our heads, hands, and hearts are willing to do whatever is needed. This balance will be the remaining funds required to go.
