We wanted to share our testimony with you and how God has turned a tragedy into something so beautiful. Very much to our surprise we found out we were expecting our fourth baby back in the spring of last year. If you know us, you know that we love our family that God has blessed us with, and we knew that God had a plan. Unfortunately, we miscarried June 3rd of this past summer and we were brought to our knees. We looked to God to give us grace and strength that only He could provide. Not only did God comfort us in our time of grief, but He also spoke to our hearts and we realized we have more love to give. We prayed together as a family and as a couple of what our next step should be. Steve and I always wanted to adopt, but it wasn’t until now that God truly made it clear that adoption is what our family was called to do.
Through some college friends we found out about a faith-based organization called Project 143. P143 brings hope to orphans through hosting them here in America. Our soon to be adopted son was part of this program and our friends hosted him this past summer. When we first laid eyes on him, we instantly fell in love with him and knew he should be apart of our family. Like most kids beg and beg for a pet, our kids have been fervently asking and praying specifically for another brother. It was only after much prayer and friends advocating for us that God opened the doors to allow us to adopt our son. The country of Colombia is where our soon to be son is from. We are adopting internationally. We are in the last portion of our adoption process but that sounds very less complicated than what it really is. Do you remember reading where He took our tragedy and turned into something beautiful? Well, our adoption is just that, and I could write a book on how many doors have been opened and how many times we have been able to share our testimony with even complete strangers while giving God the glory. We have been in awe by God’s goodness and are truly blessed to be in the center of God’s will for our family.
As you may know, there are many costs with international adoption and we can’t do it alone. These costs include adoption agency fees, homestudy fees, adoption placement fees, psychological evaluations, immigration fees, and post placement expenses. Another expense that we will incur is travel. We will have to travel to Colombia to bring our son home. This will include staying in country for 2-3 weeks for family integration and to complete the adoption. Would you prayerfully consider how you could financially support our adoption and bring us one step closer to our son coming home to his forever family? We would love for you to pray over what amount God is speaking to you about donating. Thank you so much in advance for your love and support and for bringing our son that much closer to his forever home. We truly love and appreciate you all.
