McGrath would like to support Lee and Helena Dowdall after the loss of their beautiful daughter, Harper.
WhenHarper was diagnosed with Stage Four Diffuse Midline Giloma in March 2019, Helena and Lee had their lives turned upside down. Both stopped work to care for and spend time with Harper during her many hospital visits, radiation treatments and surgeries to fight this incredibly rare and aggressive brain tumour. Throughout this ordeal, they faced everything together with a brave face for Harper.
Now Harper is at peace, Tracey Dixon has organised a retreat for Lee and Helena in Bali, where they can grieve, reflect and spend time on themselves. The Como Shambala Estate in Bali offers a Seven day Wellness program that we hope will offer some assistance to them both after a devastating six months.
We know a lot of Lee's colleagues have asked how they can help after going through what is possibly the most horrific experience any one could imagine. We have started this GoFundMe page, for those who want to help by putting towards a retreat for Lee and Helena. McGrath HQ have committed to matching every dollar donated up to $10,000.
We expect the trip, including flights, transfers, accomodation, wellness retreat and treatments to cost around $20,000. Any money raised over this will be donated to either the Children's Cancer Institute or a future project dedicated to Harper.
We know this won't bring Harper back, but it will offer some support and reprieve to a family who have suffered so much.
