Green * Energy Independent * Earth Friendly * environmentally responsible.
A Solar Photovoltaic (PV) carport system has been built to supply MCGP with 25 years of renewable energy, fostering a green space. We are seeking donations to go toward a 6-year electricity advance ($72,000 total, $22,000 received, $50,000 remaining) that MCGP would pay to Community Solar over the six year PPA terms. The funds are needed in advance for construction and extra system expenses including landscaping, river rock and wall heating wall units to eliminate the gas bill as well. After these 6 years, the carport system will be donated by Community Solar to MCGP, providing the masjid with free renewable energy for next 20 years to come, Inshaa Allah. Be a part of this movement that is putting protecting the earth at the forefront of our goals at MCGP. Our Islamic schools and centers can be a leading example for other religious organizations on the path to a greener future.
Islam has a rich tradition of highlighting the importance of environmental protection and conservation of natural resources
The Holy Qur’an and Sunnah (Prophet Muhammad’s practice) are a guiding light to promote a sustainable earth.
“The world is beautiful and verdant, and verily God, be He exalted, has made you His stewards in it, and He sees how you acquit yourselves.” (Book of Hadith - Muslim)
It reiterates Qur’anic teaching that human beings have been given the responsibility of guardianship over the natural environment.
Muslim Center of Greater Princeton (MCGP) is on the right path to follow the teaching of our faith by reducing the carbon foot print of the center and preserve our planets healthy environment. As of this past week the solar Photo Voltaic carport system was commissioned to operate for the next 25 years, ISA.
It will provide MCGP with all its energy needs for 25 years to come.
This growing phenomenon that encourages all people to engage in their natural environment, allowing them the opportunity to actively protect it. It starts at our schools and centers and then expands to our homes and businesses. This movement and momentum will eventually fosters a change in our community at large. Through these solar projects, we want the young people to experience a sense of achievement and be able to get engaged in the environmental management policies, ultimately steering them towards adopting a healthier attitude towards our environment and attain pride to up hold the tenants of our faith.
The solar project is an ideal way for our community to embark on a meaningful path towards improving the environment in both at our schools & centers and our local community.
We want to raise our generation into a brave, health-conscious, and environmentally friendly community that is all Eco-friendly and doesn’t harm the planet. A generation that embodies a healthy life style, promoting physical well-being, health consciousness, deep environmental awareness and espousing friends of the earth.
Health-conscious and eco-friendly consumers nowadays are driving development and innovation in global trends that aligns it with their desire for healthy, premium and sustainable products. Sustainable on wide scope of issues and activities that do not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
A healthy life style is built on health consciousness, environmental awareness, and becoming friends of the earth. By harnessing renewable energy, recycling, and advocating for a sustainable future, environmentally friendly communities will go far in accomplishing our goal from children to parents.
