Luke passed away on the 30 April 2024 and changed the trajectory of so many lives. He brought many people together and was known for his cheeky smile, constant good mood and spontaneous lifestyle.

We are organising the McAuliffe Mile in honor of Luke in order to raise money for a bench in his home, Gyles Quay, where people can go and reflect and remember Luke and the person he was. Entry fee for the mile is €10 but all donations are welcome to support this cause. The mile will be held at the end of the old Newry road. Details of the route will be posted closer to the time. People are free to walk, jog or run this mile with refreshments for everyone at the Blue Anchor.
