A Chance To Pay It Forward "Help Grammie"

Donation protected
Gloria Ann Eversley, most of us know her by her chosen - Grammie. That’s who she is to her family and friends.  She is Grammie to her 22 grandchildren,  her 22 great grandchildren and the community of children she supported across 6 states. If you know Grammie, you know that she is a women of great strength and compassion.

Grammie is the single mom of 5 children who did what she has to so that she could provide for her family.  In her younger years, she would walk miles to work to provide for her children. Later, she would work a full day then come home and care for her grandchildren.  And then, after retirement, she volunteered to care for her great-grandchildren.  She was also a very active member in church and was always ready to support the schools in her community.  She has ALWAYS been there for US (her family and community), now it is our turn to be there for her.

Grammie has a diagnosis of dementia and glaucoma, among many other medical challenges, which are weighing on her.  After 14 years living with one of her grandchildren, she has made the difficult decision to move into an assisted living community for seniors with memory care needs.  This is something she is very excited for because she is able to maintain her independence, but also receive the higher level of care her medical needs require.  Although Grammie is very excited for this new chapter of life, assisted living is expensive and Grammie is on a limited-fixed income.  However, this is where we get to help her dreams come true and provide her the support she needs to make this move and transition as seamless as possible.

For this move, we are hoping to raise $60,000 to help ease the financial needs this move will create. We realize that this is a lot of money to ask for, for most of us it takes a year to earn this amount of money.  For Grammie this will cover moving costs and monthly fees until Medicaid is able to kick-in.  As Helen Keller said “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.

If you are able please take this opportunity to pay it forward and "Help Grammie” who has helped so many over the years! We all appreciate any and all support!
