Hello everyone,

This fundraiser is to raise funds to support undocumented families and individuals during the current COVID-19 pandemic. As some of you may know, undocumented individuals are NOT able to access unemployment benefits, Medicare, federal social services, and resources/services from many federally funded organizations and programs. This leaves our community at risk of being left without the proper resources they need to survive.

100% of proceeds will go to undocumented families.

The ask for allies is to donate and/or share this fundraiser with your networks so we can ensure that undocumented families have funds to pay bills, rent, buy groceries, seek medical care, etc.

How to support undocumented folk in the midst of COVID-19:
1. Without a state ID, undocu folk can't buy over-the-counter medicine- buy it for them.
2. Sometimes accepting money is hard. Offer gift cards to grocery stores you know they frequent.
3. Don't be afraid to drop off a few bags of essentials, especially now. This action won't be taken harshly, especially if y'all are close.
4. Ask them what they need.
5. Come up with a list of things you can offer and ask them if any of those will be useful for them.
6. If they have children and you see them frequently already, offer to watch their children as they take a nap or call their family back home.
7. Don't panic around them!
8. Acknowledge that they are resourceful and knowledgeable. They've been making it work in this county so they may be able to teach you more than you think.
9. Go to them for guidance.
10. The most obvious is to actually practice income re-distribution. I can't explain how important it is for folk who have salary jobs to share that income with others. We are all living through this but some will get through it w/ excess & others w/ scarcity. Share your resources
