Maypole ribbons for May Day in Woodmancote

Hi, my name is Helen and I am a May Day committee member. I help teach the pupils of Woodmancote School to dance the maypole at the annual village event, May Day in Woodmancote.

Maypole dancing has been part of the event since it began in 1983 and sadly the ribbons are starting to show their age!

May Day is a free event, profits aren’t our reason, it’s about the community having fun. However this now means we are in need of some donated funds to buy new ribbons at a cost of £150.00.

We, the May Day Committee, are hoping that our supporters in and around Woodmancote would like to see this tradition continue.

We are therefore asking for donations towards their cost, please give what you can and help ensure Maypole Dancing continues in our community.
