Hi, my name is Mayliyah Torres, and I’m 15 years old. I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my family during an incredibly difficult time.

Recently, our dad was arrested and is now facing possible deportation to Durán, Mexico. This happened after a personal conflict with his ex-girlfriend, and now our family is in crisis. My siblings and I there are four of us only have our dad. He has always been the one to care for us and keep us together.

Right now, my older sister, who is 24, has temporary custody of us. She is doing her best to keep us safe and stable until our dad’s court date on July 31st at 1 PM. However, taking care of all of us has meant she’s had to miss work and take on a lot more responsibility and expenses food, rent, bills, and everything else we need to stay afloat.

We’re asking for $4,000 to help my sister cover these unexpected costs while she supports us through this time. Anything you can give no matter how small would mean the world to us. Your support can help keep our family together and give us hope while we wait for the outcome of our dad’s case.
