Maya needs your help after losing 2 family members to cancer

Maya is a hard working and inspiring family woman, always giving back to her community and encouraging the people around her to be their best selves. She's an extremely passionate painter and one of the strongest people I know! Unfortunately, her father passed away in July of 2024 after a long difficult battle with cancer. The grief shook up her entire daily life, yet she was resilient. She continued her education at SUNY Purchase, the college her father wanted her to attend. Within the beginning months of her fall semester, her family's best friend of 11 years, Nova the pit bull, succumbed to a cancer of her own. Losing two of the closest beings in her and her family's life caused a predicament. Continue her education, or return home to support her mother. It was a hard decision, but with all the loss, finances, and life throwing punch after punch, Maya made the difficult decision to drop her education and return home to provide emotional and financial support for her family. Within her grieving state, Maya didn't realize she dropped her classes after the drop out date, surprising her and her already hurting family with a $9,000 invoice for her remaining classes.

Maya currently works for a public school, providing after school care for children ages k-5 making only $17/hr, for three hours, four days a week. Meaning she makes roughly $185 a week post taxes. This is way below the margin for paying off her school debt, car, and house bills. With jobs being sparse due to the influx of job losses, finding a better paying job is nearly impossible.

Please consider donating to my friend's cause, a dollar to spare is greatly appreciated!
Sharing this would mean the world to us as well!

All funds will be used to cushion and pay off Maya's college debt! So that she can focus all her time on her family!
