Max's Wheelchair

Hi everyone,

I’m Maria, AKA auntie Maz!

I have set up this fundraiser for one of my favourite human beings and very good friend - Max.

I have known Max from the moment he was born - a very tiny little boy - which was a surprise to us all! Sadly in 2008 Max was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and is now a full-time wheelchair user.

Max’s mum Jodie is one of my very best friends who I have known for a very long time. She is the most amazing mother I have ever known. She takes everything in her stride, never complains and has given her every being to Max but the chair is beyond anything she could dream of getting him so this is where we need your help!

The chair Max currently uses is becoming too small for him and is limited with the surfaces he can use it on. And, whilst basic chairs are funded through the NHS (for which we are very grateful), they aren’t the most practical and can’t be used on grass or sand, which means never taking a trip to the beach or visits to the park - can you imagine your child having never visited a beach or park!

The chair we are raising funds for will allow Max to drive on St Anne’s beach alongside his friends and family with the wind in his face or drive through his local park smelling freshly cut grass! So, we are not just getting Max a chair - we are buying him experiences we all take for granted.
