These are are good friends, Jenny and her son Max. They have been homeless for about 6 months now, staying in a tent, friend's houses, and motels. They have an urgent need for a car to get to work and find a school for Max.
Max and my son Dario are best friends. Through a series of very unfortunate events Max and his mom ended up homeless. Max had been bullied at school, and then physically attacked. His mom took him out of school to homeschool him for a while and had to leave her job. Then they lost their housing. That's the bad news. The good news is that Jenny is a resourceful person and has lined up a new job and also been touring Milwaukee area schools so decide on the best placement for Max.
Unfortunately, they suddenly no longer have access to the car they were borrowing, which in their circumstances with school and work is necessary.
I have never set up a fund like this, but I witness the desperate circumstances they are in. Max is here with us today, having a break and getting ready to celebrate his best friend Dario's 10th birthday. What we want more than anything is to see our friends in a stable and safe environment once again. They just need a little boost!
If we can get a little over $3,000, we can get a little car, registration and insurance. If not, or if there is extra, it will be used for food and housing.
Until we live in a country that really takes care of the most vulnerable among us, we must reach a little bit farther to help each other. In these kinds of difficulties, my family has always helped me. Sadly, our friends Jenny and Max do not count on a family safety net.
They would be ever so grateful for the kindness of strangers. Please help with just a little something.
