Max’s journey

I’m trying to raise some money for my best friend Nicola, who’s baby Max is very poorly.  Max is not even 6 months old yet. After being admitted to hospital for the 4th! time with ‘bronchitis’ he has Spent most of the last few months in intensive care and high dependency care in Liverpool’s  Alderhey children’s hospital. They have been  trying to get answers as to what was causing him to be so ill it was clear it  was much more than just bronchitis.  Now finally after numerous tests, scans and cameras they have some answers. Poor Max’s has a number of abnormalities to his respiratory system his heart artery’s are wrapped around his airways and his tubes are narrowed his Tracheobronchal has split meaning he needs specialist major heart and lung surgery. To have this he needs to go to Great Ormand Street hospital in London so he gets the very best care from specialist. He will need to stay for up to 6 weeks while they try and help rectify some of Max’s problems. It’s hard enough being in hospital in your own city which they’ve had to deal with for the past few months. Nicola & Martyn Max’s parents now have to face travelling down to London with no accomadation provided for the family and only 1 parent being able to stay on the ward with Max. So they’ll have to fund hotels until Max has his operation then the hospital will fund a room for parents only meaning they’ll have to reluctantly leave Max’s big sister Scarlett 7 and big brother Edward 3 at home with family. The financial strain on them is horrible imagine having to find money to live, stay and travel in London and having the ordeal of having to be split from their children for so long as well as having the pressure of trying to get Max better with no family or friends to support them as they’ll be so far away. I’d like to try raise money so they can all go and stay together as a family so they can get through this terrible time and give them some relief of the financial pressure so it’s one less thing to worry about. Meaning they can concentrate on getting this gorgeous happy little baby boy better.
